The State of Care report is the annual assessment of the state of health and social care in England.

This year's report looks at the quality of care over the past year, including before COVID-19. The report is based on inspections and ratings data, along with other information, including that from people who use services, their families and carers, to inform CQC’s judgements of the quality of care.

You can read the report at www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/20201016_stateofcare1920_fullreport.pdf

The report is also available in easy read format at www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/20201016_stateofcare1920_easyread.pdf

COVID-19 testing
There is a new, semi-permanent Covid-19 Local Testing Site which has been built on the council car park on Darnton Road in Ashton-under-Lyne.

A pre-booked appointment is essential before attending the site, and these can be booked via the national portal www.nhs.uk/coronavirus  or by phoning 119.  Availability of tests is determined by national capacity and appointments are released at different times throughout the day, so it is worthwhile to keep trying for an appointment.  People should only book a test if they have symptoms.

More information can be found at www.tamesidehospital.nhs.uk/Default.aspx.LocID-014new0fu.RefLocID-01403b001.Lang-EN.htm
