Urgent Treatment Centre
On 29 April 2019 the new Urgent Treatment Centre opened on the Tameside Hospital site (next to A&E). Alongside the already launched Primary Care Access Service this will provide a service for people with a condition that needs prompt medical help to avoid it deteriorating, but is not life-threatening.
You may remember there was a detailed 12 week consultation from November 2017 to January 2018 on the proposals for urgent care in Tameside & Glossop. Following the consultation and analysis of a range of information – including feedback from the public and patients – a decision was made in March 2018 by the Tameside & Glossop Strategic Commissioning Board to proceed with Option 2 which included a new Urgent Treatment Centre. A summary of the consultation and a link to the decision report can be found here.
The Walk in Centre at the Ashton Primary Care Centre has now closed. Please note, Ashton GP Practice is not moving and will remain at Ashton Primary Care Centre.
You can find out more about both the Urgent Treatment Centre and the Primary Care Access Service here.
