Equality and Diversity Workshop

*Equality & Diversity EDS2 Workshop – Wednesday 14 November 2018*

Have your say on how NHS Tameside & Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (T&G CCG) meets their requirements in relation to equality and diversity.

As well as being an opportunity to discuss equality & diversity issues with other members of the public, service users and stakeholders, the workshop will also focus on the CCG’s performance under the NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS2).

EDS2 is a national tool which supports NHS organisations to review and improve their progress against their commitment to promote equality and reducing health inequalities. As part of the workshop you will be invited to grade T&G CCG’s performance using the EDS2 measures.

The workshop will be held in Lesser Hall 2 at Dukinfield Town Hall, King Street, Dukinfield, SK16 4LA, 1.45pm - 4.30pm. A programme for the event will be circulated in due course. In the meantime, please hold this date, time and venue in your diaries.

Please express your interest to attend by email to michael.clegg@tameside.gov.uk. Please provide your details including name, organisation (if relevant) and contact details including telephone number and e-mail address by no later than Friday 9 November.

Flu jabs

Don’t put off getting the flu vaccination. If you’re eligible, get it now. It’s free because you need it. The flu vaccine is the best protection we have against unpredictable viruses. It is vital that those eligible have it every year as the vaccine protects against different strains of flu which can change and/or evolve each year.
If you’re at risk of complications from flu, make sure you have your annual flu vaccine, available each year usually from October onwards.

You can find out all the details about the different types of vaccinations available for different age groups on the Tameside & Glossop CCG website and also who is eligible for a free vaccination.

Who cares?!

‘Who Cares?!’ is an original piece of music theatre created by the Hearts and Minds Theatre Company that aims to inspire a new generation of carers and a culture of compassion and understanding in Tameside and beyond. It follows the story of Chloe, a girl with attitude who alongside Dean, an unassuming sci-fi fan, ends up with the bottom of the barrel work experience placement – an elderly care home. Through their journey, this odd pairing fall in love with each other, and more importantly, the act of caring itself.

Please see flyer for more information. Guide Bridge Theatre performances are on Friday 16th November at 2pm and Saturday 17th November at 3:30pm.

You can book tickets for free through the Guide Bridge Theatre website Who Cares?! at Guide Bridge Theatre

Your health or care story

Do you want to tell someone about what happened when you received health or social care during the last few months? It can be praise for a service, or you might feel some improvements could be made.

Healthwatch Tameside would love to hear from you. Finding out what is happening, from the people receiving the care, is really important to us. It helps us to decide what areas to look at in more detail in the future. What you tell us will remain anonymous.
There are different ways to tell us:
Thank you for your help.

Care Navigation

Sometimes when you call your GP the doctor may not be the most appropriate person for you to see. There are other health professionals who can support you and in some cases you won’t even need an appointment to see them.

To find out more about the services available, you can look on the Tameside & Glossop CCG website.
