Patient Information Day
Healthwatch Tameside will be on Ashton market to hear about your experiences of using health and care services. Come and visit us and have a chat.
SATURDAY 14TH APRIL - ASHTON MARKET 10AM – 3PM
The Ashton Patient Neighbourhood Group has organised an opportunity for you to find out more about the changes being made to the provision of NHS services in Ashton and the wider Tameside and Glossop Area as part of the integration of NHS and Social Care.
A number of stalls will be on Ashton market between 10am and 3pm with staff from the Hospital Trust who can answer questions and explain changes being introduced to improve health and social care in Tameside.
There will also be representatives from a number of Voluntary Organisations who can provide help to improve your own health and wellbeing as part of the increasing emphasis on self-care, and also advice on assistance that is available for carers. These will include:-
• Action Together
• Active Tameside
• Be Well Tameside
• Healthwatch Tameside
• The Anthony Seddon Fund
• Greater Manchester Police
So please come along and find out more on what is going on around you.

COPD event
Have you have been diagnosed with COPD and would like to know more about the condition?
Is your GP in Denton or Droylsden?
If so, there is a free event you can go along to.
Know your blood pressure day
Know Your Blood Pressure Day is this month
|
Having high blood pressure can triple your patients' risk of stroke. It's the biggest controllable risk factor for stroke.
Know Your Blood Pressure Day 2018 is happening on 14 April.
There will be free Know Your Blood Pressure events happening all over the UK, where members of the public can have a free blood pressure check. We will also be encouraging people to seek free blood pressure checks in their community, pharmacies and local health care centres.
In the past, 25% of all readings taken at these events have been high, and attendees with high readings will be given advice to see their GP.
We have events happening throughout the year and we have a particular focus on people over the age of 45, or of black or Asian descent. Our staff, volunteers and Rotary Club partners are being urged to reach out to these at-risk groups in their local communities.

Personal Health Budgets and Integrated Personal Budgets survey
The survey is open from 1 March to 30 April 2018, and all personal health budget holders and integrated personal budget holders are invited to share their experiences. The findings will be used to improve how personal health budgets are offered across the country. GMHSCP would like to get plenty of GM responses coming through. If they get some good results it could help strategic leaders see PHBs as a good news story – and any areas for improvement can be worked into the support programme.
