Ambition for Ageing Project Tameside - Improving the Lives of the Over 50's

‘Ambition for Ageing’ is a project that is being delivered across Greater Manchester including Tameside.
In Tameside, the Ambition for Ageing Team are working in 3 areas across Tameside which are: -
• Denton South
• Newton Hyde
• Ashton Waterloo
The aim is to make these areas more age friendly.  This is done by talking to people aged 50 plus, who live and work in each of the areas, to find out what they like about living where they live and what they would like to see improved as they grow older.
It is known that some older people are socially isolated and find it really hard to get involved with what’s going on in their community, so a worker will come along to meet those individuals and work out a way to get them involved.
There is also some funding to invest in the good ideas that local people come up with. A regular newsletter is produced so if you live in one of the above areas and would like to talk to them or receive a regular newsletter about what’s going on you can contact either Ruth or Sandra on 0161 339 2345 or email ruth.madden@actiontogether.org or sandra.jackson@actiontogether.org.uk
If you would like to read a copy of their latest newsletter you can do so here http://www.healthwatchtameside.co.uk/news/ambition-ageing-newsletter
