#Wednesdayweekly - Disability Hate Crime Awareness
Run by Future Directions a social care provider that provides support to people with learning disabilities and complex needs...
Within the organisation we have a group called SPICE which is made up of people with learning disabilities and autistic people. The group are Experts by Experience and use their personal experiences and first-hand knowledge to raise awareness about issues that matter to them, and make things better for people with learning disabilities.
Many people with a learning disability have experienced hate crime. The aim of this session is to provide information about what hate crime is, the impact it can have on those affected, and how to report it. We will also be sharing what we have done as a group to help stop hate crime.
