'Good Help, Good Conversations’ Training (Rochdale, Oldham and Tameside)
This training is aimed at all frontline workers and volunteers is part of the Ministry Covid response funding.
During the Covid-19 pandemic it became much harder to talk about everyday concerns and find out who to turn to for help.
But we still see people in lots of places - in the street, over a garden fence, in a waiting room, on the bus. On this course you will learn how to turn situations like these into opportunities to have Good Help Conversations. These are positive and helpful conversations with people about their health and needs.
It will give you the tools to:
- Start a conversation with a stranger
- Prompt tactfully for worries
- Listen carefully for clues
- Point people in the right direction or just help make their day
The course is free and takes only half a day - ideal for the general public, volunteers and anyone in a front-line role who sees people day to day.
