Oldham Community Centre Network
The Oldham Community Centre Network was initially set up so that groups could share information, ideas and advice relating to the management of community buildings in Oldham.
Potential areas of activity include:
- Networking
- Sharing ideas, experience, resources and good practice between members
- Inviting speakers
- Discussing issues, concerns and problems
- Representing its members at relevant meetings by acting as a single voice to have a coordinated impact
- Identifying training and development needs of members
- Filtering information
- Streamlining processes
- Connecting with other partners
- Raising awareness of what members do and what facilities they have available with other partners
- Joint funding bids
- Identifying areas where members can work together so that the collective benefit to members would be greater than if working individually e.g. joint purchasing power
The vital role that community centres have played and continue to play in their communities during the Covid-19 Pandemic has been recognised. Representatives of the network have been involved in discussions with Oldham Council about how community centres can have a voice in local leadership.
Please join us for an online discussion about the role of the Oldham Community Centre Network as Oldham continues its recovery, and what benefits this could bring to its members.
Please bring along your thoughts and ideas about how we can move forward with a shared set of values and objectives, and work together using your collective skills and knowledge for maximum benefit to your communities.
