Oldham Poverty Truth Commission Lunchtime Drop-in
The Oldham Poverty Truth Commission will draw on experiences of people who have been in poverty alongside those with power in Council services, businesses, and charities to make deep changes to the causes of poverty in Oldham.
Faciltiated by Action Together, Oldham Council and partners from across public and voluntary services, we are now seeking looking to recruit Grassroots Commissioners who want to use their voice to share the experience of living in poverty directly with people responsible for addressing it. This drop-in is a chance to find out more about what's involved, so join in at any time over the hour to speak to us about getting involved. People with lived experience interested in being commissioners, or those working with people who might are both welcome to attend.
We're looking for 15 Commissioners with lived experience of poverty overall. Commissioners will attend regular development sessions in the first few months of 2021, then 1 Commission meeting per month for a year. Expenses (including travel, childcare and tech access as required) will be covered, with support available to help you participate and get the most from the Commission,
