Rochdale Borough - Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene for Catering

This online course is accredited by The Food Standard Agency and will be delivered by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing.

The 3 hour training course is aimed at Volunteers in the Rochdale Borough who are involved in the delivery and cooking of food in response to Covid-19.

There is a maximum of 12 people able to book onto the training and only two people per group/organisation can register due to limited spaces. Once you have registered you will be contacted with the meeting ID and password to access the training via Zoom. 

Upon completion of this online training material learners will sit an online test and on successful completion, will receive an Accredited Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene meeting the legal training required, which must then be applied to work situations, and volunteering opportunities when handling food.

On completion of this course learners should understand:

•Why food hygiene and safety is important

•Their personal and legal responsibilities

•The impact of food borne illness

•How food becomes contaminated

•How to prevent contamination through good hygiene practices

•How to control contamination through safe temperatures and storage

•How to control food safety hazards at critical control points using a HACCP based Food Safety Management System
