The Greater Manchester Hate Crime Strategy – consultation with the Voluntary, Community and Faith Groups

Registration is closed for this event
The consultation will aim to identify key priorities and consider local actions.

Over the last few years there has been a significant increase in hate crimes across Greater Manchester. Here in Greater Manchester we take a zero tolerance approach to all forms of hate crime. That is why we have one of the highest reporting rates of hate crime in the country. But we know it’s just the tip of the iceberg and many, many people who have been subjected to abuse or violence because of who they are still suffer in silence.

That is why it’s so important to have one approach across Greater Manchester. It’s one area that impacts on all of Greater Manchester’s residents and we all have the same goal, to give victims a voice, and show that Greater Manchester will stand together against hate.

Each local authority have their own plan or strategy with a commitment about how they will tackle hate crime in local areas. These plans across Greater Manchester are all very similar and as this issue crosses all areas it would be beneficial to have a Greater Manchester wide strategy/ plan to allow us to have a united approach.

The consultation will aim to identify key priorities and consider local actions.

Your representation at the consultation event would be much appreciated and valued to help shape the Greater Manchester Hate Crime Strategy.
