Over the last 18 months we’ve invested £1million in approximately 70 local voluntary and community groups in Tameside through our Community Wellbeing Programme.

Our Community Wellbeing Programme combines investment with Social Prescribing and Community Development to develop and strengthen community wellbeing in Tameside.

Investments have helped all sorts of groups to try new things and develop their offer for local people, funding everything from volunteer-run activities based in local neighbourhoods, to larger services that help people to improve their wellbeing and reduce isolation. We’ve also invested in some larger programmes to support our Social Prescribing service.

Our existing funding comes to an end in March 2020, so we’re beginning to review and collate our learning from the programme. We also need to begin closing elements of the investment programme, so that we can develop whatever comes next. This means there are now upcoming deadlines to apply for the funding.
