Official Launch Event!

Cartwheel Arts in Heywood was awarded £63,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund at the start of the year for 'Overspill' - an 18 month project which explores the stories of people who moved from Manchester slum clearances during the 1950/60s to the six original 'overspill' estates across Greater Manchester, with a particular focus on Darnhill in Heywood and Langley in Middleton.

The project is currently being showcased in the People's History Museum in Manchester.

Cartwheel Arts have organised an official launch event at the museum on Thursday 24 October from 1pm til 2.30pm. A free coach will be departing Darnhill and Langley at midday for anyone who would like to attend. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

To book a place please contact Vicki Greer, Overspill Project Manager, on 01706 361300 or at vicki@cartwheelarts.org.uk.

Further information about the project can be found at www.overspillmcr.org. If you have a story of overspill that you would like to share this can be submitted via the website. The exhibition runs at the People's History Museum until the 12th January 2020
