Caring, Working, Living.

Caring, Working, Living is a project that aims to support people who have been out of work for over a year due to caring responsibilities and wish to return to work as well as working with employers to adapt their policies. It is led by Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) in partnership with Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce and funded by Government Equalities Office.

We will provide support for the people wishing to return to work by connecting them to organisations who provide practical support such as help with CVs and interview tips, providing financial support with the costs associated with finding a job such as child care and interview clothing, linking them to employer’s events such as workplace visits.

Returners are looking to return to the workplace at a level commensurate with their skills and experience. Research has shown that the majority of people in this position are women. We are aiming our programme at non-graduates and carers experiencing economic disadvantage, and older workers, aged 50 years+.

Returners can self-refer or can be referred from voluntary and public sector employment support organisations from across Greater Manchester, and will receive support with CVs and interview tips; workplace visits to employers to gain a better understanding of current workforce opportunities; and coaching from employers.
