• Fundraising Campaign to normalise and humanise mental illness.

Normalising & Humanising Mental Illness Everybody in the world has mental health. Everyone. Yet the fear of being judged is preventing many people from talking about it. At Chasing the Stigma we want to help remove that fear and unnecessary stigma, by using our own first-hand experiences to say ‘I have suffered. I got through it and you can too’. You are never alone.

    About the host organisation

    Hosted by: Awakening Minds
    Organisation Profile:

Awakening Minds is a non-profit community interest group founded in 2016 within Rochdale, one of the most deprived boroughs within the UK. We provide Punjabi Mental Health services to educate individuals and families with the tools to recognise and deal with the underlying issues associated with ill Mental Health in a culturally appropriate manner. We aim to improve the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well being of marginalised women who are struggling to effectively make use of current services due to cultural and linguistic barriers. We provide holistic therapy, counselling services and educational sessions to encourage reserved and isolated women to build their ability to acknowledge, accept and overcome their problems.
