    About the host organisation

Hosted by: Ramblers Association, Oldham Group
    Organisation Profile:

The National Ramblers are at the heart of walking in Britain. If you walk the RA is for you and the general public. They make it easy for everyone to walk, whether in the countryside, cities, coasts and on or off the beaten track.
The Oldham Group of the Ramblers Association was established in 1973 initially to look after the 800 or so footpaths in the Borough. Since then the Group has progressed to a walking club with the footpath section working in the background. There are a variety of walks ranging from 5 milers, 8 and 11 miles, (Sundays), short pub walks (Wednesdays), coach excursions (2 times per year), youth hostel weekends (2 times per year).
The 3 footpath secretaries deal with footpath issues such as planning applications, problems, blockages, footpath diversions, liaising with the ROW Officer.
We meet at the Royton Cricket Club, Bransdale Drive off Westerdale Drive, Royton, OL2 5TX. 3rd Thursdays in January, March, May, July, September and November (AGM).
